OUR 2018 RESOLUTIONS!

Updated: Feb 6, 2018

January 3, 2018 - Skilled Wound Care

We’ve just concluded an awesome year for Skilled Wound Care--and it’s only the beginning!

2017 was an amazing year for Skilled Wound Care. We published a study, received a much-anticipated international accreditation, and--most importantly--we brought wound care to thousands of people across America.

But this is only the beginning. There is so much more in store for us with this new year, and we’re so excited to share it with you!

Last year, we got to work with so many great nurses, and this year we intend to do the same.

We resolve to continue to use our partnership with the nurses, doctors, and staff of skilled nursing facilities to keep bringing the best wound care to our patients.

We believe that wound care is a basic right for all people, and we will continue to bring it to those in need.

The elderly patients in hospitals and nursing facilities are one of the most underserved, forgotten populations. Yet they are also deserving of the most respect, and bringing them dignified care is part of ensuring that they feel that respect, even at their most vulnerable. By continuing to care for these patients, we resolve to bring more transparency and reform to the practices of nursing facilities as well as our own practices, to keep treating our patients with the respect they deserve.

We are always excited to share our knowledge with the nurses who attend our courses. They are the frontline of care for our patients, and sharing knowledge with them is partnership that not only benefits us, but our patients as well. Bringing a skilled human touch to wound care is vital to properly healing wounds, and enforcing our partnerships is an incredibly important aspect of that. We are resolved to keep learning from the doctors and nurses that we partner with, and to continue to teach best wound care practices in every course we teach.

We at Skilled Wound Care believe in our ability to bring the best possible wound care to the patients we serve, and we look forward to many new opportunities to do exactly that in 2018.

Happy New Year!

Skilled Wound Care is a mobile surgical practice committed to transforming the chronic wound care model in nursing facilities. Wound care experts make weekly bedside visits to patients in long-term care facilities, avoiding transfers to hospitals or clinics. Our expert physicians give patients the most up-to-date and effective wound treatments, and educate facility staff on how to help patients continue to heal quickly and effectively between visits. This model of collaborative care allows SWC’s physicians to improve patients’ lives and health outcomes, to empower nursing staff, and to raise public awareness. Skilled Wound Care, along with its nurse and nursing home partners, is working every day to positively transform traditional nursing home wound care.
